HENRICO, Va. (WTVR) -- Police have released the name of an elderly man who died after being hit by a car on Willow Lawn Dr. about 350 feet south of West Broad Street.
Police responded to the incident around Monday 6:15 p.m. and roads were closed as police surveyed the area.
Police said 84-year-old Predzel Hawthorne, of the 2000 block of Grayland Avenue, was struck by a Honda Civic driven by an adult male.
Hawthorne was transported to VCU Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Members of the Henrico Police Crash Team continue to investigate the accident.
Officials said that speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash and that no charges have been filed at this time.
