RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)- Richmond police are investigating a home invasion Sunday morning.

According to police, three masked men kicked in the door of a home in the 5300 block of Blueridge Ave. just after 2 a.m. They forced their way inside while the victim was asleep.

Once inside, the three suspects tied up the victim up and then robbed him.

CBS 6 News' Chelsea Rarrick talked to the victim Sunday morning. He said he had been asleep for an hour before waking up to the sound of his door being kicked in.

"They said they were police, then it took me a few seconds to realize they weren't police," said the victim, who did not want to identify himself.

He said the suspects were all wearing masks and stole his cell phone, cash and credit cards.

"It was three people pointing guns at me," he said.

The three suspects fled, and the victim was able to free himself. The victim said he was tied up for several minutes on the floor.

The victim, along with neighbors who live in the street said it's typically a quiet neighborhood.

"It's shocking. I'm tired of hearing about the senseless violence going on everyday," said Terrell Daniels who lives on Blueridge Ave.

The victim said he doesn't know who the men are, or why they targeted his house.
