VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WTVR)– A death investigation is underway after two men were found dead inside a Comfort Inn hotel room on the oceanfront, in the 2300 block of Atlantic Avenue.

Emergency officials were notified about the incident Thursday afternoon.

Police said cleaning crews discovered the bodies in the fifth floor room.  After a person failed to check out 11 a.m., workers knocked on the door at 1:20 p.m. but no one answered.

When workers finally entered the room, they found the two men dead and bloody inside.

The case is being investigated as a homicide. Police have not said whether there are any signs of forced entry or if there was a weapon inside of the room.

There is no suspect information right now, and no other details have been released about this investigation.
