RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Richmond Police identified the man shot and killed in South Richmond Thursday as Samuel L. McFail Jr., 29, of the 3400 block of Peyton Avenue.
“At approximately 6:27 p.m. Thursday, officers received a call for a person down in the 100 block of East 34th Street. Officers arrived on scene within one minute and found [the victim], dead of an apparent gunshot wound,” Richmond Police wrote in a media advisory. “Detectives believe the crime may be robbery related.”
Police at the shooting scene said the suspect was a black man wearing dark clothing. No further description has been released.
