RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – The Dominion Christmas Parade will march down Broad Street this Saturday morning. The parade begins at 10 a.m. and runs until 12:30 p.m. The parade route is between the Science Museum of Virginia and 7th Street.

WTVR CBS 6 will broadcast the parade live on television and stream the parade on WTVR.com beginning at 10 a.m.

The 2013 Grand Marshal is Iraq war veteran Luke Cassidy.

Cassidy, 39, of Midlothian, lost a leg following an improvised explosive device in Iraq in 2004. After intense rehabilitation, the marine can once again walk and run.

“It’s a terrific honor to be the marshal of the Richmond Christmas Parade,” Cassidy said in a statement. “My message to all the kids out there is to keep the Christmas spirit in your heart and never give up on yourself no matter what. Stay close to your family and help out when you can. I hope to see you at this year’s parade!”

The parade will rebroadcast on CBS 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Christmas Day.
