RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Lawyers for the family representing the woman killed riding her bike on River Road last year called the $100,000 settlement approved Wednesday by a Richmond judge “woefully inadequate.”

Attorney Aubrey Ford represents the family of Lanie Kruszewski. The family filed a $5 million wrongful-death lawsuit against Eli Webb.

Webb, 32, is currently serving a three-year sentence after a jury found him guilty of hit and run. Webb hit Kruszewski, 24, as she rode her bicycle from work the night of July 29, 2012. Webb came forward days after the accident and told police he thought he had hit a deer.

Ford said the settlement was lower than what the family had hoped due to limited insurance coverage.
