STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a robbery that happened early Saturday morning.

The Emergency Communication Center received an alarm signal around 9:30 a.m. from the Stellar One Bank, located at 25 Banks Ford Parkway.

Bank employees told Stafford County dispatchers that the bank had been robbed by a man who had fled the scene.  According to the employees, the man entered the store, came up to the counter, displayed his gun and demanded money.

There were no customers in the bank during the robbery.

When crews arrived, they blocked off the area, but they could not find the suspect after two hours of searching.

Officials described the suspect as a 5 foot 11 skinny white male wearing a black nylon jacket and a red hat with a plaid design.  Deputies also said the man had a goatee under his lip.
