RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — Investigators are trying to figure out what caused an overnight fire in the city’s West End.

Richmond fire crews were dispatched to the 5900 block of Lowry St. a little before 4 a.m. Sunday.

When they arrived, crews spotted heavy flames coming from the rear of a residential structure.

Investigators said it took about 20 minutes to get the fire under control.

Richmond fire officials said one person was transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital for possible smoke inhalation, but that no one else was injured.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
