RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) - The chaotic and violent scene at LAX or Los Angeles International Airport has most everyone across the country talking about airports and security.

"It's a shock that we haven't learned our lesson in this country," former TSA agent E.T. Webster said. "There's no respect for human life."

Webster was a TSA agent for a few years at Richmond International airport. Watching Friday’s events unfold out West, hearing reaction and the cries for TSA agents to be allowed to pack heat, has him saying hold the line.

"Who do you shoot at? There's a crowd if people at these gates. You have youngsters, oldsters, and the whole nine. I don't think that will solve anything," said Webster.

Webster says like malls and schools, airports are no different. A breach of security can happen no matter how much you train claims Webster. However, Henrico Chief of Police Doug Middleton emphasized that the training at RIC happens often.

"The training with airport police happens long before an incident occurs. We have consistent communication with them (airport police) and engage in active shooter training. Our officers work together and know the layout of the airport."
