Richmond, Va. (WTVR) – The growing season has officially ended across most of central Virginia, including Metro Richmond.  Temperatures this morning reached the freezing mark at RIC Airport, which was the coldest reading since April 4th.  Rural communities registered overnight lows in the mid and upper 20s.

Tonight will be chilly, but not nearly as cold.  We’ll wake up to temperatures in the upper 30s across Metro Richmond, but the coldest rural communities will once again flirt with the freezing mark.  Then a warming trend will settle in with afternoon highs in the low to mid 60s tomorrow, eventually rising into the 70s during the coming week.  Halloween should be warm this year, and our next significant rain chances will come Friday.

Stay warm and provide shelter for your pets!
