RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Former President Bill Clinton will campaign in Richmond Sunday for Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe.

The campaign event will be held Sunday, Oct. 27 at 4:45 p.m.

The event is scheduled to take place at Richmond Community High School on E. Brookland Park Blvd.

"President Bill Clinton and Virginians for McAuliffe will join Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe for a series of events around the Commonwealth to discuss the importance of voting in this election and the clear choice facing Virginia voters between Terry McAuliffe's mainstream plan to create jobs and invest in education and Ken Cuccinelli's extreme ideological agenda," the McAuliffe campaign wrote in a media advisory about the event. " Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23. Tickets are required but do not guarantee admission."

Clinton will also appear with McAuliffe at campaign events in Dale City, Hampton, Norfolk and Blacksburg on Sunday and Monday.

"It's not surprising that Terry McAuliffe, who has been unable to present a positive case for Virginia's future and whose campaign has been nothing but negative and false attacks, needs folks like President Clinton to speak for him. Virginians will not be fooled. There's only one candidate in this race with a credible plan to create 58,000 jobs and ensure our children have access to a quality education: Ken Cuccinelli,"Cuccinelli for Governor spokesman Anna Nix wrote in an email.

McAuliffe was a major fundraiser for Bill Clinton while Clinton was president and co-chair Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign.

Hillary Clinton stumped for McAuliffe at a campaign stop in Northern Virginia last week.
