Police ID 26-year-old killed in Route 460 wrong-way crash

DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Virginia State Police have released the name of a man killed in a wrong-way crash on Route 460, near Route 1501, early Sunday morning in Dinwiddie.

Police said the driver of a Chevrolet Camaro was heading eastbound on Route 460 around 5 a.m. when he was hit head-on by the driver of a 2004 Jeep Cherokee. The driver of the Jeep Cherokee was heading westbound, but driving in the eastbound lane at the time of the crash.

Police said 26-year-old Devon J. Pulley, of the 1000 block 8th Street in Petersburg, who was driving the Camaro and suffered serious life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Southside Regional Medical Center where he later died.

The woman driving the Jeep Cherokee, 60-year-old Kathy L. Ellis, of the 14000 block Branched Antler Drive in Midlothian, also suffered serious-life threatening injuries. She was flown to VCU Medical Center.

Route 460 eastbound reopened shortly before 10:30 a.m. The crash remains under investigation.
