KING WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- A King William County mother is upset with her local school board because she believes their actions are making her daughter a victim again.

The mother, who does not want us to reveal her identity, told CBS 6 News' Jon Burkett Friday that her daughter was sexually assaulted at King William High School earlier this month.

“Two weeks ago, my daughter stayed after school for an event," she explained. “She was walking down the hall with someone she thought was a friend. He dragged her into the boys' bathroom and sexually assaulted her. He pinned her down and sexually assaulted her.”

Commonwealth's Attorney Matthew Kite would not elaborate on the incident, but did say an investigation is ongoing and that charges have been filed. Kite said that all juvenile cases will be heard on Oct. 28.

The mother said the teenage boy was suspended for at least 10 days.

“The school board met Tuesday and took no action,” the mother said. “My daughter is supposed to return to school with him,” she added.

School Superintendent Mark Jones said by law he is not allowed to comment on matters discussed in closed-door sessions. School Board chair Leigh Hubbard re-iterated that point.

The mother has pulled her daughter from school and says she will educate her at home until she feels it is safe for her daughter to return.
