NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – The start of hunting season could provide new clues in the search for a missing Virginia teen.

Nelson County deputies are asking hunters to keep an eye out for clues in the woods that could help them find 17-year-old Alexis Murphy, who vanished at a Lovingston gas station on Aug. 3.

A surveillance picture shows what she was wearing before she disappeared: leopard print pants, a magenta shirt and brown boots.

Investigators said local hunters are familiar with the layout of the land. Their experience can help deputies cover wooded areas and tough terrain that have been challenging during the search for Murphy.

Despite the fact that Murphy has not been located, 48-year-old Randy Taylor has been charged with her abduction.
