Injured army ranger’s surprise salute
(CNN) – An amazing gesture by a true American hero. Corporal Josh Hargis was injured in action in an Oct. 6 mission in Afghanistan. While lying in a hospital bed, Hargis’ commanding officer thanks him for his service and awards him the Purple Heart.
To everyone’s surprise, Hargis, thought to be unconscious, raises his arm in salute to his superior officer. The army ranger is now on the road to recovery and heading home to his wife.
