HENRICO, Va. (WTVR)– Monday around 1:00 p.m., Henrico police said that a male suspect approached an adult male while he was walking to his vehicle in a parking lot in the 4200 block of Innslake Drive, near the Innsbrook Lake.

Police said that the suspect displayed a handgun and made demands of the victim.  The victim gave several personal items to the suspect.  The suspect forced the victim to drive his own vehicle (the victim’s vehicle) with the suspect inside, to a bank ATM in the area to withdraw cash. The amount has not been released and no injuries were reported.

The victim then drove the suspect back to the 4200 block of Innslake Drive where the suspect walked away on foot.

Investigators say the incident resembles two other robberies near the area that happened within the past month. The first occurred September 5, just after midnight in the 23-hundred block of Hickory Creek Circle.

It was said that there, a man approached a woman, forcing her to drive to an ATM at Parham and Broad Streets to withdraw money. She drove back to Hickory Creek, where the suspect took off on foot.

A similar scenario played out September 13 in the 44-hundred block of Breezy Bay Circle near Short Pump Town Center.

“It's kind of the scariest thing to happen to someone,” says Willis Honeycutt after hearing about the Innsbrook incident.

This incident is leaving those who work, shop and live in the area with a false sense of security.

“That means he could be out there looking to do anything, but hopefully the police and all those cameras, like the ATM camera, got a good picture,” says Debra Ajy-Pierce.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 7 inches to 6 feet tall, 25-30 years old and with a thin to average build. In two of the robberies, the suspect wore a bandana over his face, but in the most recent incident was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt pulled tightly around his face.

No surveillance photos are available at this time, police said.

Henrico County Police also asked for the public’s assistance to help identify and locate the subject responsible for this crime.

Anyone with information regarding this offense is asked to contact Henrico Police at (804) 501-5000 or Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
