(WTVR) -  A new website is revealing the last wishes of thousands of British soldiers killed in World War One. The hundreds of thousands of handwritten last will and testaments had been stored in a government warehouse.

Before British troops went to the front lines, they wrote their "final words" to loved ones and tuck them into service books in their pockets. Tens of  thousands of those letters were never delivered, because they revealed sensitive military plans from the battlefield.

Now, 230,000 of those letters have been scanned and put online. The UK government website has had more than 3 million hits from dozens of countries since its launch.
