The alleged abduction happened in a neighborhood off Route 17 between Brewer’s Neck Boulevard and the Crittenden Bridge over the Chuckatuck Creek around 8 a.m.

The girl said she was forced into a white Chevy coupe and driven to two different locations where she was sexually assaulted, according to the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office. She was then driven back to the general area of the abduction and released.

Authorities said the girl called her parents, who then called emergency officials at 12:30 p.m. The victim was then taken to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters for treatment.

The girl described her abductor as an older white man with a blondish/gray beard, blonde hair, blue eyes, cut-off jean shorts and tennis shoes.

“This is an extremely traumatic event,” Marshall said during a news conference. “This is a wake-up call for all of us.”

Marshall said area schools have been notified and that he has talked with the superintendent about what happened.

“They have also put a notification out to the parents because this event took place as a child was waiting for the school bus to pick her up,” Marshall said.
