CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WTVR)--An early morning takeover-style robbery in Dinwiddie was followed by a fortuitous traffic stop in Chesterfield.

Now multiple police sources tell CBS-6 the two incidents are linked, saying it's very likely they'll help detectives solve a whole bunch more.

They came masked, brandishing weapons and quickly grabbing money out registers and safes.  Multiple police sources told us the trail of terror for several fast food felons ended with a traffic stop at the Circle K off Willis Road.

"I'm glad to hear they're caught," Rebecca Giella, a resident of Amelia who comes to Chesterfield frequently.

There have been seven fast-food robberies over the past 45 days in Henrico, Chesterfield and Dinwiddie.  Police sources tell CBS 6-three adult males, one female and a juvenile are linked to those robberies and possibly more.

One of the first robberies that began the serial string was at the Hancock Village McDonald’s in Chesterfield.  Dale Morgan's two prized possessions- his daughters- live in the area.  The news of the arrests helped ease his mind a bit.

"I'm glad, man,” said Morgan.  “My kids come up here all the time.  Now I know they're safe and these guys are behind bars and hopefully they'll keep them there."

In every robbery the suspects were armed.

Witnesses watched early Thursday morning as police arrested two suspects in a car and pulled two more suspects out of the trunk.

Police have not made an official comment about any case connections but one woman says it was satisfying to see the suspects have the tables turned on them.

"I'm glad to see they had guns pointed at them,” said Tracy Mustian who lives near the Circle K.  “Now they know how it feels."

We know the names of the suspects arrested but won't release them until they're booked.  Sources tell us they have 11 felony charges on file for just the Dinwiddie robbery and many more charges are expected.
