CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- Several disturbing images of masked men, armed with shotguns caught on surveillance have struck fear in many across Central Virginia.

"It's scary, very scary," Henrico resident Marian Moore said.

For the past six weeks a string of fast food restaurants, to include the Chesterfield McDonald's at Hancock Village, were targeted and robbed by several brazen gunmen.  But on Thursday, a traffic stop in Chesterfield led police to four people believed to be linked to the robberies.  The arrests have helped put some residents at ease.

"My kids come up here all the time," Chesterfield resident Dale Morgan said.  "Now I know they’re safe and these guys are behind bars and hopefully they’ll keep them there."

In total seven fast food restaurants in Chesterfield, Dinwiddie and Henrico were hit.  It's not just the fast food heists, but other unrelated cases that has Marian Moore on high alert.

"You wonder whether they are going to come in and rob you next," Moore said.

The accused robbers are set to face a judge soon, while Moore is left facing a hash reality.

"You just have to keep your guard up, just watch your surroundings and be very careful," Moore said.

Police sources are telling CBS 6 News four men, one woman and a juvenile may be linked to the crime spree.
