Arrests made in VCU abduction-robbery case, three others

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Five individuals have been arrested in connection with four downtown robberies in the past week.

Police said that after two VCU college students were held against their will and robbed at gunpoint at approximately 5:30 a.m. Monday in the 500 block of West Franklin Street, VCU Police officers received information about a possible suspect.

Richmond and VCU Police detectives worked together and charged Dominique A. Hackley, 20, of the 2500 block of Seminary Avenue, with one count each of robbery and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Additional charges are pending.

Arrests have also been made in the armed robbery of two men on Sept. 17 in the 500 block of North Lombardy Street, the robbery of a man in the 1600 block of Grove Avenue that same evening and another man in the 1300 block of West Cary Street early the next morning.

Detectives will continue to investigate these crimes and said that more information will be released when it’s available. Police have not released any mugshots at this time.

Police said they would like to thank the community for sharing information that helped identify and lead to the arrest of these individuals.
