RICHMOND, Va. — These adoptable pets are being featured during Mike Goldberg’s Paws for Pets segments this weekend…

Calla Lily is an adoptable “lap” cat, from the Richmond SPCA.  She loves being the center of attention and enjoys snuggling close with the ones she loves.  Give Calla Lily a home for the holidays and discover what a love bug she can be!  For the month of December, the Richmond SPCA is reducing all adult cat adoption fees by 50 percent.  You can reach the Richmond SPCA at 804-521-1307.

Lulu is a 2-year old Pit Bull mix, adoptable from Richmond Animal Care & Control.  She is full of energy and loves to entertain!  She would make the perfect hiking or running buddy.  Lulu loves people and other dogs, and is very well mannered both on and off leash.  You can reach RACC at 804-646-5575.

Previously featured adoptable pets include…

Garnet is a sweet, senior pup who is sure to steal your heart!  He’s 11 years young and is adoptable from the Richmond Animal League.  It may take Garnet a little time to get used to new places and people, but he’ll come out of his shell in no time with lots of love and perhaps some extra treats.  He is hoping to find his forever family this holiday season.  You can reach RAL at 804-379-0046.

Sara is a 6-year old dog, adoptable from the Hanover Humane Society.  She’s a very sweet house-trained smaller Pit Bull, currently undergoing heartworm treatment.  Sara needs to be the only pet because she doesn’t like to share her owner’s attention.  You can reach Hanover Humane at 804-798-8248.

Reuben is a 2-year old Beagle, adoptable from Pixie’s Pen Pals.  He loves to be around people and play with stuffed toys.  He’s a bit nervous around other dogs, but could go to a home with a calm canine companion.  Reuben is unsure how he feels about cats, but could probably be introduced to a dog-savvy feline.  Reuben will stick to you like velcro and is ready to be your new best friend!  You can reach Pixie’s Pen Pals at 804-525-2193.

Frenzy is a fun, playful kitty, adoptable from the Richmond Animal League.  She loves people and is a real snuggler.  Frenzy loves other kitties, but hasn’t been around dogs yet.  She figures they’re pretty cool and should get along with them just fine.  You can reach RAL at 804-379-0046.

Lovie is a 5-year old mixed breed dog, adoptable from the Hanover Humane Society.  She’s a smart, active, very sweet and affectionate girl.  She doesn’t like cats, but seems to do well with dogs her own size and larger.  You can reach Hanover Humane at 804-798-8248.

River is a 3-year old dog, adoptable from the Henrico Humane Society.  He’s a happy go-lucky and handsome boy who is crate trained and house trained.  he is good with other dogs, but cats are currently an unknown.  River is looking for an active family that can provide him his forever home.  You can reach Henrico Humane at 804-262-6634.

Angel is a 3-year old Lhasa mix, adoptable from the Hanover Humane Society.  She’s very sweet and calm, and just wants to sit in your lap and cuddle!  She does well on a leash as well.  You can reach Hanover Humane at 804-798-8248.

Priss is a 5-year old lady cat, adoptable from the Richmond SPCA.  She is a lap lounger, cuddle bug and an overall purr-fect pal!  She has been a long-term resident at the Richmond SPCA due to no fault of her own.  She loves to receive neck scratches and will start drooling as a sign of her affection.  Priss is FIVE positive and suffers from renal disease, but the veterinarians at the Susan M. Markel Veterinary Hospital at the Richmond SPCA are happy to provide her adopters affordable care to help manage her condition.  You can reach the Richmond SPCA at 804-521-1307.

Rosie is a 3 1/2 year old black and brown Hound, adoptable from the Hanover Humane Society.  She is very affectionate and enjoys being with people.  She weighs in at 81 pounds and does well on a leash.  you can reach Hanover Humane at 804-798-8248.

Rufus is a sweet and dignified 6-year old dog, adoptable from the Richmond SPCA.  He is a gentleman looking for a lasting home.  Rufus qualifies for the SPCA’s Seniors for Seniors adoption program.  If you are an adopter over the age of 60, you can adopt Rufus for a reduced fee and receive a free leash, bowl and other pet items.  You can reach the Richmond SPCA at 804-521-1307.

Zeppelin is a 4-year old dog, adoptable from the Hanover Humane Society.  He weighs in at 85 pounds and is very smart, active and house-trained.  Due to his attitude with other dogs, he needs to be the only pet and a home with small children is not recommended.  Zeppelin rides well in a car and would love a human companion who could spend a lot of time with him and give him the love and attention he needs.  You can reach Hanover Humane at 804-798-8248.

Cacolo is an adorable, social 3-year old dog, adoptable from the Richmond SPCA.  He was transferred into the Richmond SPCA’s care from Gloucester County.  He lovers going on walks, playing ball and meeting new friends.  Though Cacolo is friendly, he would need to meet a new dog prior to adoption.  You can reach the Richmond SPCA at 804-521-1307.

Spud is a 3-year old dog, adoptable from Pixie’s Pen Pals.  He is a dog of simple pleasures and absolutely loves going for long walks outside to get all of his energy out.  His favorite indoor pastime is being brushed and groomed.  With a proper introduction, Spud does well with other dogs, but also would be happy in a home where he is the only dog.  He’d do best in an adult-only household.  If you have room in your heart and home for this sweet boy, you can reach Pixie’s Pen Pals at 804-525-2193.

Riggens is a 5-year old Basset/Beagle mix, adoptable from the Hanover Humane Society.  He is smart, playful and affectionate once he gets to know you.  He has excellent house manners, is house/crate trained and walks well on a leash.  He does need to be an only pet, and is not good around small children.  He doesn’t like to be manhandled or picked up and needs an experienced owner.  You can reach Hanover Humane at 804-798-8248.
