CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Four men are in custody and are facing charges after a pursuit on Route 288 on Saturday.

Virginia State Police attempted to stop five motorcyclists headed southbound on 288 near Route 10 for reckless driving around 2 p.m.

A state trooper attempted to stop them, but they continued to head down Route 288 at over 100 miles per hour.

State police say that while the bikers were trying to get off Route 288 and onto I-95, two of the motorcyclists, Guy L. Eldridge and Oleo A. Mantack, ran off the roadway and crashed into the median.

Eldridge, 44, was charged with felony eluding police and felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, among other charges. He is being held without bond. Mantack, 38, was charged with felony eluding police and misdemeanor reckless driving.

Both were taken into custody; one was taken to VCU Medical Center for serious non-life threatening injuries following the accident.

Police continued to chase after the other bikers.  The pursuit lasted about three minutes until Aaron J. Williams and Wallace E. Jones Jr. were found later in the 2300 block of Willis Road.

State police are still investigating.
