CSX train derails in Southampton County

SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, Va. (WTKR) - Two people were hurt in a train derailment and fire early Thursday morning in Southampton County. The CSX train derailed around 2:33 a.m., causing a large fuel spill and fire near a Dominion Power station and a chemical plant, according to NewsChannel 3′s Darragh Copley.

One person was taken to a hospital in Franklin, the other was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
