BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (WPBF) – The police department of a Florida town gave a little boy battling cancer a day full of surprises and love.

Three-year-old Anthony Bentley, who is obsessed with police officers, has spent the past few months in an agony of chemotherapy, needles and painful hospital visits.

“It's rough... sometimes the pain he feels. I wish I could bear the pain he feels,” said Shem Dixon, Anthony's mother.

When Boynton Beach officers heard Anthony’s story, they invited the boy and his family to the station for a special behind-the-scenes tour.

Holding hands with a police officer, Anthony walked through a police demonstration with eyes wide and never saying a word.

The day continued with more surprises as the 3-year-old happily checked out the swat team's van and watched in awe as officers repelled down the side of a building.

The police chief also swore in Anthony as a junior officer. After that, the boy got to meet two of the department's police dogs.

Anthony also received a slew of prizes ranging from a fingerprint kit to an official police emblem engraved with his name.

His parents said it was a day the little boy will never forget.
