RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – The same company that manages the Richmond Coliseum and Landmark Theater will now manage the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center as well.

Under an agreement reached with the Richmond Economic Development Authority, SMG Richmond will manage year-round operations of the buildings, practice fields, recreation area and amphitheater on the 17-acre training camp site behind the Science Museum of Virginia.

“We are excited about the variety of events that we will be able to bring to this wonderful site,” SMG Richmond Regional Manager Dolly Vogt said in a statement. “In the next few weeks we will be working out processes, procedures and specific details with our partners to ensure that this training center and all of its facilities will be optimized.”

For three weeks each summer, the Washington Redskins will use the space for training camp. The rest of the year, the site will host theater events, youth sports and festivals, according to the statement. The space will also be used by Richmond Public Schools.

SMG Richmond also manages Richmond CenterStage and RVA on Ice. SMG manages the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Soldier Field in Chicago, Reliant Stadium in Houston, and EverBank Field in Jacksonville, according to the statement.
