Marine unit conducts urban training in Dinwiddie

DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- Officials said Dinwiddie residents should expect to see an uptick in military aircraft traffic and troops because of a training exercise on Labor Day.

Marines and sailors from the Camp Lejeune, N.C.-based 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) will conduct training near the Dinwiddie Correctional Center on Cox Road.

A news release said residents may see Marines and role players during the Realistic Urban Training exercise.

Officials said numerous military aircraft and ground vehicles will be in the area.
