UPDATE: Amber Alert canceled for North Carolina Toddler

HIGH POINT, N.C. (WTVR) --  Police have confirmed the 17-month-old who was inside a vehicle that was stolen outside a grocery store on Thursday night has been found safe and unharmed.

Capt. Mike Kirk confirmed 17-month-old Shylin Olandea Neal was found safe in Greensboro around 8:30 a.m.

“Police responded to a call. They did find the vehicle and did find the child inside. The child is fine,” said Capt. Kirk.

Capt. Kirk said police are not reuniting the child with the family.

shylinasdf1Police say the child’s godfather parked the vehicle in front of the Food Lion and left it unlocked and the engine running.

The child’s godfather told police he was inside the grocery store for “3 to 5 minutes.” When he came out of the store, the vehicle was gone.

The stolen SUV is described as a white 2003 Chevrolet Suburban with N.C. tags BJX-1565. The vehicle has a sunroof, an “I love Wakeboarding” sticker on the back and the passenger side mirror is held together with a shoestring.

Police are looking for a 2003 white suburban with North Carolina plates, BJX-1565.

The toddler was last seen wearing a turquoise onesie with bright hearts on it and blue clog shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police immediately.

Neal’s grandmother says the family is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to Neal’s whereabouts.
