BUMPASS, Va. (WTVR) – Virginia State Police said alcohol was not a factor in a weekend crash that killed a motorcyclist. State Police said David E. Plemen, 53, of Beaverdam, died after he was thrown from his 2005 Harley-Davidson SLS Sunday afternoon.

Police said a car pulled out in front of Plemen’s motorcycle from a private drive. Plemen was wearing a helmet when he crashed, police said.

The accident happened about 2:10 p.m. Sunday on Route 601, less than a mile north of Route 652, police said.

Police said charges against the driver of the car are pending as the crash remained under investigation.
