(CNN) – This is no ordinary cup. A Boston-based company has created a line of cups and straws that can detect date-rape drugs. Drinksavvy’s products change color if an odorless, colorless or tasteless rape drug is detected.

The company’s founder, Mike Abramson, says he came up with the idea after his own drink was laced with a sedative. Drinksavvy expects to roll out a line of drug detecting cups and straws by early next year.

As for cost, the prices are expected to be competitive with what bars already pay for cups and straws.
