UPDATE: Missing Powhatan minister found Sunday morning

POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a woman who walked away from her Powhatan home Wednesday afternoon.

Betty Bailey, who suffers from a medical condition, walked away from her home in the 1400 block of Dorset Road about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, deputies said.

Family members said Bailey is an ordained minister who preached last Sunday. However, they believe a medication issue may be to blame for her walking away.

Larry Jackson, Bailey's brother-in-law, described her as "a very quiet, helpful, Christian-type person" who is considered a fixture in the community where she grew up.

"All I can says is, if she's anywhere and she hears us, we need ya back," said Queen Robinson, Bailey's best friend.

Bailey is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs between 165 to 180 pounds, deputies said. She was last seen wearing a flowered blouse and black skirt.

Bailey is known to visit the Swift Creek Reservoir in Chesterfield County.

Deputies asked anyone who may see Bailey walking in the Dorset Road/Genito Road area of Powhatan County or Chesterfield County to contact Powhatan County Sheriff’s Office at 804-598-5656.
