HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – With the new school year starting in Henrico in just a few weeks, a lot of folks are buzzing about the accusations involving some school leaders.

A school board member resigned when questions were raised about her relationship with the school superintendent who is on paid annual leave over questionable emails.

Acting Superintendent Patrick Kinlaw sent out a tweet, email and robocall to reassure parents, students and teachers that the school system is working toward a successful school year.

“I’m so proud of the work that’s being done by our principals, teachers and staff who will not let recent events distract them from what’s most important — and that’s our students,” Kinlaw said in the robocall.

Current school board members said Kinlaw will lead the school system for an undetermined period of time.
