HANOVER, Va. (WTVR)–Shortly after 1:45 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, Hanover Fire Department responded to a fire in the 6100 block of Havenview Drive, in Mechanicsville.

A family of eight are displaced now, though officials aren’t sure how many were home at the time of the fire.

Battalion Chief Jason Williams said that crews found fire in the attic and roof. They are still investigating at this time. Williams also told CBS 6 that 20 minutes before the call came in for this fire, crews were responding to another fire in the western part of the county.

The two simultaneous fires depleted resources and Henrico Fire Department assisted at the Mechanicsville scene.

The fire department will work with the family. Williams said they will be displaced awhile.
