VIDEO: F-16 jets collide of Va. coast

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WTVR) – The military is investigating a mid-air collision that occurred Thursday night off the Virginia coast. The Coast Guard rescued one Air National Guard pilot early Friday morning after his F-16C Falcon jet hit another jet 35 miles southeast of Chincoteague.

The Coast Guard released video of the rescue.

The rescued pilot was able to safely eject after the collision. The pilot of the other F-16C Falcon jet was able to fly back to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. The jets were part of 113th Wing D.C. Air National Guard.

The rescued Falcon pilot was listed in good condition.
