CHESTER, Va. (WTVR) — Jimmy Dean may have passed away several years ago, but the singer is still giving back to the community he loved.

This week Dean’s charitable foundation donated $100,000 to Henricus Historical Park.

The money will go to help build an indoor learning center that will teach kids about the park’s history.

The singer’s widow, Donna Dean-Stevens, said she knows Jimmy would love the idea that their donation was helping children about history.

“I know he would be so pleased to be honored in this way….and to know that the funds we set up all those years ago are going to such a great cause,” said Dean-Stevens.

Henricus, which is one of the first English settlements in North America, is perhaps best known as the home of Pocahontas and John Rolfe.
