(CNN) — Flames shot 25 to 35 feet into the air Sunday night from a natural gas line fire in a residential part of York County, Virginia.

No injuries were reported. Authorities evacuated about 10 homes.

York County Fire Department Capt. Paul Long said the fire was expected to burn itself out once Virginia Natural Gas could stop the flow of gas.

Residents reported that the fire began after several flashes of lightning.
