(WTVR) – “When fear knocks, let faith answer the door.”

That was one of the biggest messages Robin Roberts delivered to the audience at ESPN’s ESPY award show last night. Roberts, who has fought a well publicized battle with cancer, received the Arthur Ashe Courage Award.

Roberts, who appears on Good Morning America, got her big break as an anchor/reporter for ESPN.

Prior to accepting the award, ESPN broadcast a clip detailing Roberts’ story.
