Over 100 dead carp found in Colonial Heights creek

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WTVR) — Officials said more dead fish have been found floating in a Colonial Heights creek.

The Department of Game and Inland Fisheries discovered 136 carp Tuesday between the Swift Creek Mill and the Lakeview Dam.

This is the same spot where neighbors reported seeing dead fish last week.

A CBS 6 investigation promoted the Department of Environmental Quality to take samples of the water to figure out what is killing the fish.

Those text results are expected back next month.
