Hopewell Police search for Bojangles armed robbery suspect

HOPEWELL, Va. (WTVR)– Police are searching for a person suspected of robbing a Hopewell Bojangles with a handgun early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to the Bojangles at 3519 Oaklawn Blvd. for a reported Armed Robbery that had just occurred around 5:00 a.m. Saturday.

Police say an investigation revealed that the lone armed offender entered the business, brandished a handgun and demanded money from the employee.

The offender then fled the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

No persons were injured during the incident.

Police describe the offender as a black male between five foot nine inches and six foot one inch, weighing over 160 pounds, with a medium build.

He was last seen wearing a black long sleeve shirt, black bagging pants, black cloth covering his face, a red shirt under the black shirt, black tennis shoes with white and silver strips lining the bottom and then displayed a dark colored handgun.

As the Hopewell Police Department continues to investigate this matter and follow up on viable leads, the department is requesting that any persons who may have been traveling in and around the area of this incident and observed any suspicious persons or vehicles to contact Detective Ken Howard at (804)541-2284.
