Glen Allen shooting suspect arrested

GLEN ALLEN, Va. (WTVR)– Police arrested a suspect early Sunday morning that allegedly shot a man during a fight at a home in Glen Allen Friday.

Henrico Police told CBS 6 that Justin Shaw was apprehended a little after 4 a.m. at the Wawa on Brook Rd.

Shaw had warrants for malicious wounding and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Officers responded to Parham Doctors’ Hospital just before 8:30 p.m. Friday night in regards to a man who had been dropped off at the emergency room with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim reported that he and the suspect, identified as Justin Shaw, got into a physical fight at a home in the 1900 block of Rebel Rd.

The confrontation escalated and the suspect allegedly was able to retrieve a gun, an AR-22, from the residence and began firing.

The victim was struck in the leg and was transported to the hospital.

Police said the victim is expected to be ok.
