Police search for 7-Eleven robbery suspect

HOPEWELL, Va. (WTVR)– Police are seeking information on the whereabouts of a man suspected of robbing a Hopewell 7-Eleven early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the 7-Eleven at 2014 W. Broadway Ave. around 4:45 a.m. for a reported Armed Robbery that had just occurred.

Police said an investigation revealed that the lone armed offender entered the business, brandished a handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

The offender then fled the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

No persons were injured during the incident.

The offender is described as a black male, 20 to 30 years of age, approximately five foot four or five foot five inches, with a stocky build.

He was last seen wearing a dark color short-sleeved compression t-shirt, black shorts with white vertical stripes, a black and white patterned bandana covering his lower face, a black “doo-rag,” blue gloves and displaying a dark colored handgun.

Hopewell Police are continuing to investigate but urge any individuals who may have been traveling in and around the area of this incident and observed any suspicious behavior to contact the Hopewell Police Department at (804)541-2284.
