Elias Webb sued for wrongful death in bicycle hit-and-run

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)--The family of a young Richmond woman hit and killed while riding her bicycle in the west end of the city has filed a five-million dollar lawsuit against the man who was responsible.

According to court documents obtained by CBS 6, a lawyer representing the mother of Lanie Kruszewski filed the wrongful death suit against Elias Eebb.

Elias WebbThe 31-year old struck and killed Kruszewski last July, while she was riding her bike home from work along River Road.

Webb said he thought he had hit a dear, as an explanation that he kept going. He said that the next day, realizing he had struck Kruszweski, he turned himself into police.

Earlier this week, Webb was sentenced to three years behind bars.
