Where can I see July 4 fireworks in Richmond?

JULY 3:   

ENTERTAINMENT & FIREWORKS:  Kick off the holiday on Wednesday July 3rd with RVA Fireworks on the James — back for a third year.  Free  live entertainment on Brown’s Island including the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra, SPARC, and the Richmond Ballet’s “Minds in Motion”.  Entertainment begins at 7:30 p.m.  Fireworks around 9:15 p.m.  Prime viewing sites include the Virginia War Memorial, Oregon Hill, Manchester and Chimborazo Park.  (Rain date: July 5)  Details HERE.

JULY 3:

MUSIC & FIREWORKS: Free fireworks and music from the United States Air Force Heritage of America on Wednesday, July 3rd.  Gates open at 6:30 p.m. at Genworth at 6620 W. Broad St-Richmond. .  Music at 7:30 p.m.  Fireworks around 8:45 p.m. Children’s activities on site and parking is free, too. Details HERE.

FIREWORKS:  Fireworks following the Petersburg Generals Game  on July 3.  7:05 p.m. game time at the Petersburg Sports Complex at 100 Ballpark Rd.  Details HERE.

JULY 4:

FIREWORKS & CANNONS:  Live music, cannons and fireworks at Byrd Park-Dogwood Dell . Children’s carnival from 3-7 p.m.  Music Starts at 5:45 p.m. with a Carillon bell concert at 7 p.m. and music from Richmond Concert Band at 7:30. Fireworks at dark.   Details HERE.

FIREWORKS & FUN: Celebrate Independence Day with a spectacular fireworks display in Chesterfield at the County Fairgrounds (across from L.C. Bird High School). Activity area for children and special entertainment  Gates open at 5 p.m. Fireworks start at dark. Free admission.  Details HERE.

FIREWORKS:  Colonial Heights’ fireworks display off Charles Dimmock Parkway. Best viewing spots will be off Interstate 95, Exit 53 or 54 in the Southgate Square/Wal-Mart Area.  Free. 9:15 p.m. (Rain date July 5.) The Goochland Sports Complex has a free  for a night of fireworks and family fun. Bring a picnic, park and watch the fireworks after 9 p.m. Details HERE.

4th OF JULY AT FT. LEE:    “Fourth at the Fort Celebration”, at Williams Stadium on Lee Avenue. The event begins at 8:30 p.m. with concert of popular favorites and patriotic anthems by the Fort Lee Army Band. The fireworks will begins at approximately 9:35 p.m.. Parking and admission to this event is FREE and open to the general public  NOTE:  All Fort Lee visitors 18 years of age or older will need to present a valid state or government-issued picture ID in order to access the installation. Vehicle owners also should be prepared to show proof of insurance and a current registration if requested by installation security personnel.  Details HERE.

HORSE RACING & FIREWORKS: At Colonial Downs celebrate Independence Day with  horse racing, fireworks, live patriotic music from York River Concert Band, a family themed “After Party” with magician Jonathan Austin, Proverbial in concert, free ice cream & more. NATURALIZATION CEREMONY: Enjoy Fourth of July at Monticello’s 51st annual Independence Day Celebration and Naturalization Ceremony. Music icon Dave Matthews of the Dave Matthews Band will be the featured speaker at the event, held on the West Lawn at Monticello. The ceremony starts at 9 a.m. and concludes at 10:30 a.m. Tickets are free – however reservations are required.  Details HERE.

OLD-FASHIONED FOURTH: Enjoy an Old-Fashioned Fourth at Meadow Farm Museum/Crump Park-3400 Mountain Rd.  Music, performers, pony rides, water slide, contests and games, sand sculpture exhibition and more.  DetailsHERE.

PARADE :Beaverdam Fourth of July Parade.  Steps off at 10a.m. in downtown Beaverdam.  Details HERE.

PARADE & COMMUNITY EVENT:  Ashland July 4th Parade & Celebration.   The walking parade begins at 11 a.m. at Henry Clay Elementary School on South Center St.  and ends at the Hanover Arts & Activities Center where you can enjoy music from the Hanover Concert Band, and apple pie contest, a most-patriotic pet contest and lawn games. PARADE & CELEBRATION: All-American Celebration at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.  1 p.m. to 4 p.m.   Wear red, white and blue and bring wagons and strollers for a 2 p.m. parade around the children’s garden.  Admission is free. Details HERE.
