CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Virginia State Police are looking for information about the driver of a "newer-model, white, full sized SUV" that was involved in a shooting late Monday night on Chippenham Parkway.

A woman called 911 from her car after she was shot in the arm about 11:40 p.m. on the ramp from Chippenham Parkway south onto Belmont Road.

The woman, who was driving a Honda Accord. pulled into a business in the 5500 block of Belmont Road to call 911, police said.  Others who were also at the business where the woman went for help, said they were left in shock.

"She had blood everywhere, there was blood all over the floor, it was a lot of blood," an eyewitness said.  "She fell out on the floor, she passed out and she got back up like a ghost.  It was crazy."

The woman was taken to the hospital with what police called "minor" injuries. Police said she was the only person in the Honda.

By Tuesday morning word of the street shooting quickly made its rounds.

"It's kind of scary people are shooting on the interstate.  I don't know what she was involved in," Emmanuel Figueroa who lives nearby said.  "If you have a problem with somebody or something you should talk about it before shooting at people.  And you should not put others in harm's way."

Police are investigating the circumstances that led up to the shooting.  Detectives do not believe this was a case of road rage.  State Police asked anyone with information to call (804) 553-3408.
