HENRICO, Va. (WTVR)– Henrico Police are investigating an early morning double shooting on the 1700 block of Old Oakland Rd.

According to Henrico Police, officers received a call at 2:20a.m. about shots being fired on Old Oakland Rd.

Upon arrival to the scene, officers found two male subjects, one with multiple gunshot wounds and the other with one gunshot wound.

One neighbor woke up to gunfire and ran to her backyard window.

“I saw the guy laying on the ground.  By that time the police were there with him,” said the woman.

She declined to be identified by media, but said an ambulance pulled into her driveway to pick up one of two victims involved in a double shooting.

“They pulled up his pants leg.  And I could see the bullet hole in his leg…bleeding.  And they put him on the stretcher,” said the woman.

The thought of violence has another neighbor concerned too.  Fearing for his safety, he declined to talk on camera, but he told us that a family member had a pool party at a home in the 1700 block of Old Oakland road Friday night that later turned violent.

“That really was shocking to me. That somebody would come on somebody’s property with a gun to a get together that was supposed to be a nice pool party having fun…things of that nature. And then this hops off,” said the neighbor.

We spoke with one girl who says she attended the pool party.  She said one adult was at the home during the two hours she was there, and said she didn’t notice any problems.”

Neighbor Bernadette Motley is just as surprised as everyone else.

“I could’ve been an innocent bystander and something could’ve happened,” said Bernadette Motley.

She hopes Saturday’s double shooting is not a sign of things to come in this community.

“Nothing happens too much like that in this neighborhood,” said Motley, “and you don’t hear about it over here very often.”

Police could not confirm if there was in fact a pool party at the home.  We’re told the homeowners are out of town. And right now, police said they have suspects.
