Henrico grocery store robbery suspect turns himself in

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — Henrico police said a robbery suspect wanted for walking into a grocery store, handing a clerk and note demanding money turned himself in Thursday morning.

Fifty-four-year-old Donald T. Glasspie, of the 3000 block of Lamb Avenue in Richmond, turned himself in at the RPD headquarters on Grace Street around 7 a.m. and was charged with one count of robbery.

Police said Glasspie walked into a grocery store in the 1900 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike Wednesday and passed a note to a cashier demanding money. The suspect, who made off with an unknown amount of cash, was last spotted driving away in a red Dodge Caravan.

Henrico police released surveillance photos of the crime Wednesday afternoon and asked for the public’s help identifying the suspect.
