RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - University students and their instructors are now rocket scientists! A NASA Terrier-Improved Orion suborbital sounding rocket carrying experiments developed by students from across the nation successfully launched this morning at 5:30 a.m. EDT from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Participants are from in the RockOn and RockSat-C programs.

This rocket carried the experiments 73.2 miles above the Earth.
Now that the excitement of the launch is over, students will analyze their data. NASA says, "The experiments were developed through the RockOn and RockSat-C programs conducted with the Colorado and Virginia and Space Grant Consortia."
