RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – The domestic assault case between a former aide to Governor Bob McDonnell and his former girlfriend has been withdrawn from court, according to court records.

Eric Finkbeiner and Summer Hudson were both charged with misdemeanor assault and violation of a protective order in this case.

Finkbeiner worked as McDonnell’s senior policy adviser and was a cabinet member. He left to work for a Richmond law firm and has recently lobbied for the Washington Redskins.
