GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A Goochland man will spend the next 17 and a half years in prison after he used a hidden camera to make a pornographic video with a child he was babysitting.

Adam Hobart Stanley, 35, recorded himself sexually abusing the 12-year-old girl while she slept, according to federal court documents. Stanley plead guilty to production of child pornography earlier this year.

Agents searched Stanley’s home computer in 2012 after an FBI agent downloaded child porn from Stanley’s computer via a peer-to-peer network. During the investigation, Stanley admitted to agents he engaged in “sexual conduct” with the girl whom he had baby sat on “numerous occasions,” according to the court documents.

Stanley also admitted to buying the small video camera specifically to record the child.

Agents found “hundreds” of saved images and child pornography videos on Stanley’s computer and hard drive, the court documents indicated.

In addition to the prison sentence, U.S. District Judge John Gibney ordered Stanley to pay $205.21 in restitution to his victim. Judge Gibney also ordered Stanley be supervised for 20 years after his release and to register as a sex offender.
