PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- As the remnants of Tropical Storm Andrea moved across Central Virginia, VDOT was busy Friday installing signs warning of high water in Prince George County.

About a dozen roads in the county are prone to flooding after heavy rains heavy. But some folks think Hines and Lebanon Roads may be the two worst spots for flooding.

On Hines Road, a heavy downpour could see the road closed for hours as residents wait for the water to subside.

Many who live nearby or drive both Lebanon and Hines said they would like VDOT to investigate to see if a good ditch cleaning -- and making the ditches deeper -- could keep water from ponding on the road.

After a call by CBS 6 about Hines and Lebanon Roads, a VDOT supervisor went out to take a look.

In the meantime, VDOT urges residents to call 1-800-4-ROADS to help them identify problem areas.
